Captialism or Communism? A pointless, endless debate.
In our modern era, we require a system of economics in order to be able to do trade, business, etc. For this, two main economic systems have been created, with lots of varients: Captialism, or the Market economy and Communism, or the Command economy. In a perfect world, a mixture of both would be used and nothing would happen and everything would be perfect... But we live in an imperfect world.
In this essay, I will disfigure both Captialism and Communism as mostly rot for one reason: They both have fatal anomalies which destroys any chance of both systems being effective in the long term.
Communism - An army with a state, hurting the people intended to be "supported".
The main anomalious results of Communism, or a Command economy is that of the Dictatorship. Whilst it's original creators imagined a system for the working class, it almost always ends up in a dictatorial manner, in at least the form of Bolshevism that the Command economic system has evolved from.
The Dictatorship of the Proletariat, as an anomaly, has proven why Communism is not an option - The requirement of supressing freedoms, rights and more of the people, almost always the workers and proles; the same peoples whom Communism "supports" and tries to "help". This can be seen with how the USSR killed upwards of 243 million (~20 million if abortions are not considered as murder), and commiting acts of actrosites against the Kulaks. As for China, currently as of 2026, is attempting to erase the Uygher population of East Turkmenistan aswell as infamously trying to hide the Tianamen Square "incident" that "never" happened. We can even go on to mention Pol Pot, but the point stands.
When Bolshevism is implented, it requires a dictatorship of the majority, despite Bolshevism literally meaning the "Majority" - yet doesn't represent them.
Furthermore as an economic system itself, Communism usually flops. For example in East Germany, a gift to give for a newborn was a car. Why? Because it would have taken 25 years for the car to finally get produced and be given to the child. This and other studies such as the famines of the USSR, and how China abondoned communism for a gobalist/fascist dictatorship with a socialist veneer, proves the inefficency of a controlled economic system as a viable option. This comes from the fact that a massive state bureaucracy has to be maintained with every single economic decision having to be pre-planned and already decided on. Even with technological advancements such as A.I., it is practically impossible to remove the paperwork, bureaucracy and more all required to upkeep a full Control economy, even without it's anomaly of a dictatorship.
The irony is that a state bureaucracy is easier to do within a dictatorship, therefore not only is Communism and Bolshevism inefficent, it requires a dictatorship to even function in the first place, a dictatorship which will only care for the needs of itself and will not care for the workers or the people it claims to support with this system.
Captialism - Gambling with extra steps, and hardcore monopolization.
The main anomalious results of Captialism, or a Market economy is that of the monopoly. Whilst it is imagined as a perfect system with few flaws, those small flaws cause massive consequences, which results in the destruction of workers and the people overall.
Monopolization, as an anomaly, has proven why Captialism is also not a viable option - The requirement of extracting the wealth of the people, the same people which it relies on to have a functioning system, and is only upkept by promises, hopes and dreams. This can be seen with how devastating recessions, caused by monopolization, have been accepted as a norm within the Market economy - with it being as dysfunctional and as random as possible. This, just like a dictatorship of the proletariat, throws the people to the wall, as it does not care wether or not it should or should not do actions that support or harm the people, as could be seen with the Great Depression of 1929 and the Finanical Crash of 2008. Both of these depressions destroyed liveihoods, whilst claiming that "banks are too big to fail". We can go on but the point stands.
When Captialism is implented, it requires a system of extraction, and then claiming it is of benefit to the people, and only returns meager returns to the people.
The irony is that within the economic system itself, Captialism prioritises the growth and expansion of companies to near infinite levels. A core fundamental of business and captialist economics is that a sucessful business should, and must continue growing in order to continue to succeed. This thought and philosophy, which is required for Captialism to function, which only makes monopolization worse. Therefore monopolization, just like dictatorship for Communism, is required to for a Captialist society to function in the way it is intended to. As without monopolization, too much competition will mean too much work, and actual need to innovate - which is a tool used as to monopolize the market in a business's way. Therefore, just like a dictatorship of the proles, the system of Captialism with monopolization, and the gambling and randomness of the market will only care for the needs of themselves and will not care for the workers or the people it claims to support with this system, and, just like a Command economy, the Market economy is easier to upkeep in a Dictatorship.
Case study: The Korean Penninsula
If so far, either one or the other system of economics looks good and the other bad, then looking at either South or North Korea will fix it as both the North and the South are the culmination of everything wrong with both Market and Command economic systems.
North Korea is infamous for being a communist monarchy of sorts, led by the Kim dynasty. More relevantly, it is an army with a state. Many regions of North Korea are stuck in the past, and is sometimes still stuck mass famines. The country however decides to influence and brainwash the people into believing that everything is fine and then proceeding to show off it's military strength, whilst oppressing it's people for the tiniest of macro and micro aggressions, and killing off families or sending them to labour camps with horrible, grueling conditions. Effectively, North Korea acts as a "country" but is rather an army larping as a country.
South Korea, whilst less focused on, is as bad as North Korea. Instead of an army, it is led by the Chaebols and companies that effectively control the state. The education system itself grueling and torchuerous, just to employ children into low level company positions by the time they grow up. The extreme competitveness of the South Korean education system is so brutal, that sucide rates in South Korea for children is one of the highest compared to a majority of western countries in the world. This is just one aspect, as the Chaebols control everything in South Korean society - indoctrinating people into believing that everything is fine and then proceed force their workers into slave shifts for conglomerates that barely care for them. Just as North Korea is an army impersonating as a nationstate, South Korea is effectively a corporation larping as a country.
What is the economic system to use?
The true economic system to use, is not a Controlled economic system of Communism, or a Market economic system of Captialism. Both Commies and Cappies have anomalies which not only are fatal to their systems, but are promoted within the systems. Therefore the solution is neither of these, as they both want to accelerate the robbing of the people, just with different titles.
Therefore the economic system that should be used is one with the fewest levels of fatal errors. A system that actually promises to the majority, and not embark on those promises but instead oppress them like Communism, but also that system must not handhold the people into safety, and not let go completely into the wild like Captialism. It may be a mixture of the two systems, but it may also be a new economic system.
Therefore the debate of wether or not we should use a market or command economy it is an easy question to answer: Mostly Neither.
